Catherine "CJ" Jones

A talented singer song-writer, cj also plays keyboards/ piano, guitar, sax, flugel horn/ trumpet & specialises in the drum kit/ percussion.

During her drumming days, cj did the usual thing of playing at festivals & the London venues (12 Bar Club, The Verge, Cairo Jacks, Borderline, etc.) and also supported Suzanne Vega, Cast & the Lightening Seeds. Although still drumming (cj plays percussion for the Lee Thompson Band & drums for The Other Ones), cj decided to concentrate on her own stuff a few years ago.

Since the decision to go solo, cj has played a few of the London venues, some festivals eg. Reading Festival on the Nokia stage, has co-written with Mark Joseph and has just signed a three year recording deal with RMS Records. CJ was spotted in late September 2007 by producer Mark Duggan whilst singing in the studio with Lee Thompson (also signed to this label). Mark immediately asked cj to sign to his label and cj's debut album is now underway, with single tracks being made available to download soon.

As well as recording her debut solo album, cj can be found gigging up and down Kent/ London or running open mic nights most evenings, running African Drumming workshops at the weekends (has played in West Africa), teaching music privately & doing session work when got a spare minute!!

Apart from music - cj is a keen surfer & ex-county/ ex-international cricketer (Kent & England 'B'). She has toured in New Zealand, is a qualified coach & now plays cricket for the women's MCC team.

She hopes you'll like her tunes when the album is finished, but until then, has put some very un-finished & very un-mixed tracks on here!! :-)
